I found this video about a month ago, and it's phenomenal. And it also made me cry. Maybe just a little bit. But seriously, you should watch it because it's amazing and heartbreaking.

Hogwarts house colors!
So I was bored, and I threw these together. It's the hex code colors for each Hogwarts house, all in a neat little graphic. If I ever get around to it, I might add information about DMC floss colors and stuff, but I don't know.

Is it bad that I cried about My Little Pony?
So I'm currently babysitting my younger sister, and we're watching My Little Pony. In the show, if you don't know, there's this little group of three ponies who haven't gotten their Cutie Marks yet. In this episode, they end up helping a pony who they don't exactly love, but they help her make friends. At the end of the episode, they finally get their cutie marks, and they're all the same. They sing a song about it, and they show this montage of all the things they did to try to get their cutie marks, and their sisters say how proud of them they are. And just seeing that made me cry. Because they had gone through so much, they had tried so many things, and then, when they finally did get their cutie marks, it was so simple.
Is it bad that My Little Pony made me cry? Maybe. But, y'know, whatever.

Weird Stuff I Found While Cleaning My Bedroom, PART 1
So, as you may know, I'm planning on redoing my bedroom. So I'm cleaning it out. Which is a lot, because before I did anything, it looked like this:
I found a very old pet rock of mine. It's missing an eye, and the paint is coming off, but it's okay.

I win at panoramas. |
I'm starting a new miniseries here, Weird Crap I Found While Cleaning My Room.
Today I attacked the bookshelf, which now looks like this:
I didn't get a picture before, and it's not even done yet, BUT IT'S SO MUCH BETTER.
So, without further ado, here are the weirdest things I found while cleaning my bookshelf.
I found a bucket of dinosaurs, helpfully labeled BECKY'S DINOSAURS.
It is also labeled DINOSAURS four more times. On all the sides.
We'll just assume the other three sides are pretty much the same.
I found a toothbrush.
I found this little thing I made at Eagle Bluff last year.
I'm actually kinda mad at myself, because I got the scar wrong. But it's okay.
SO. MANY. NOTEBOOKS.
Thanks for reading! I will add more to this series as I clean my room more, so stay tuned for that.

Bad Wolf
Short post today, but whatever.
So I was messing around with Canva last night, and then this happened.
I don't really know why I wanted to do this, but it's cool. It makes me happy, but it also makes me sad at the same time. BECAUSE ROSE.
So yeah, that's it.

Today I am coloring.
It's been a really long time since I last posted here. Sorry about that.
But, moving along. Today I finally got a copy of the coloring book Enchanted Forest. And let me just tell you. IT IS AMAZING. IT IS THE GREATEST EVER. IT'S SO PRETTY. (sorry for shouting at you)
So I'm coloring today. See?

Eagle Bluff!
So this morning, one of two groups of 6th graders at my school left for Eagle Bluff. I was just thinking about how I'm going to remember that experience for the rest of my life, and I thought I'd share it with you. I had such a great time at Eagle Bluff, and I'm going to have the friends I made and the memories forever. I was in a group with a bunch of people who I didn't really know. There was one girl who I sort of knew, but I hadn't ever really talked to her. Like, ever. But we ended up next to each other one day(we had to sit upstairs and wait for the rest of our group each day),and we just started talking. I found out that she loved Harry Potter when we did the ropes course (Guys, it was on the edge of a cliff. It was AWESOME.), and someone said we should name our carabiners, because you had to ask your partner if you could move it before you did, and she named her carabiners Fred and George Weasley. (I named mine Hedwig and Pig. (Short for Pigwidgeon, obviously.)) We became really good friends, at least for that week. We don't specifically hang out, but we do know each other pretty well now, and I'll still say hi to her in the hallway and whatever.
Here's what I did at Eagle Bluff that I'll remember for the rest of my life:
Here's what I did at Eagle Bluff that I'll remember for the rest of my life:
- I went through a ropes course that was 20 feet off the ground, but it looked and felt like it was 100 feet, because it was on the edge of a cliff. (and there was an epic zipline at the end.)
- I shot an arrow at Voldemort's face, because the instructor told us we couldn't make a target that was a human, "except for Voldemort." It was great.
- We did archery, and then applied SCIENCE to said archery. (Voldemort archery was included in this.)
- I almost won the award for best bedhead. But I'm not bitter.
- I went rock climbing! (Not for the first time) (It was still awesome though)
- We went on a very long hike through the forest and then sat very quietly and still on benches for fifteen minutes. AND THEN BIRDS CAME AND ATE BIRDSEED OUT OF MY HAND. It was magical. (no, seriously.)
I think might be able to find some pictures of Eagle Bluff from last year. *digs out yearbook* *takes crappy photos of the page* Here you go!
Random Question of the Day:

Hey
This post is really more of just an update. I know I haven't posted in a while, but I am working on something fun for you guys. That's the main reason I've been mostly inactive here. I've also been doing some prep work for Girl Scout cookie season! Wooo! (Yes, I know I'm a month early for cookies. I get excited, okay?) More details on that will come soon.
So yes, I am trying to update the blog more often, but I'm working on a lot of stuff right now.
You do still get a random question.

New Year!
So, it's a new year. And what does that mean? New Year's resolution time! Here are mine.
Write SOMETHING every day.
Write a new blog post at least once a week.
Win NaNoWriMo!
Finish at least one big writing project. (this could be accomplished by winning NaNoWriMo)
Finish reading 30 books.
Get better at managing money. (start budgeting more)
Those are my New Year's resolutions. What are yours? Let me know in the comments below!
Also, I forgot a random question of the day in my last post, so you get 2 today!
There's actually snow outside, enough to build a snowman with. I made this guy the other day.
He's a pile. The snow wasn't sticky enough.
That is all.
Christmas!
I'm really really excited about these, since my family does have a set, and I use them ALL. THE. TIME. when I get stuck in my writing, and now I have my own. I love to use them to just throw a sort of random twist into my story and make it fit. I present to you Rory's Story Cubes!
I also made a little bag for them out of an old shirt that we were going to give away anyway.
I got chalk pastels too, and if you don't know what they are, it's basically fancy chalk. (I don't have any other way to explain it. I don't know.)
But look how pretty these are!!!!
I got a phone holder for my bicycle, which I actually really needed, cause, y'know, biking. I can't exactly just keep it in my back pocket, cause it'll fall out. Onto the road. It would be bad. I'm not quite sure how it works yet, I'll need to figure that out before spring. :)
I also got a lot of books.
I got No Plot? No Problem! by Chris Baty, the founder of NaNoWriMo. It's pretty much a step by step guide to writing a novel in a month, but it's also really useful for just writing a novel. I am going to use this so much. Seriously, in two years, this book is gonna be so beat up.
I got the Nerdy Nummies cookbook (yay!) which came out in November, I think. It's so cool! I'm probably gonna make at least one of the things in here before the end of break, probably the Nessie cupcakes. I mean, look at this! So cute!
I got this book called The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.
It's about unlocking your creativity, in a way. I haven't gotten super far in it yet, but it's pretty good so far.
And then this.
Fairy tales! So so happy about this, since you know I'm a sucker for fairytales. This is also helpful for my fairytale stories. (Surprise!)
My dad really likes these books, this one is about the album Flood by They Might Be Giants. TMBG is one of my very favorite bands, and Flood is my favorite album of theirs. I haven't had a chance to look at this yet, but it seems cool.
And then there's this. This is perhaps my favorite present that I got for Christmas. It's a unicorn. But it's a mug. It's the greatest.
My tea is so majestical. It's amazing.
That's it for this post! What did you get for Christmas(or whatever you celebrate) this year?

Covers!!!!!!
So, it's been a little while since I've posted here, I have been somewhat busy with school and holidays and stuff. But this weekend, I designed some covers for my two current stories. Lookit!
This is the cover I created for my fairytale stories(see this post for more information). I absolutely LOVE the cartoonish ivy over the very realistic background, but I'm not positive I like the font.
And this is the cover I made for my NaNoWriMo novel, which I have changed the title of at least three times. But I am completely in love with everything about this cover. It's wonderful.
Any feedback about these covers would be appreciated, so let me know what you think! Thanks for reading!

I got back into my old story!
So I decided to continue writing my old story, cause I got a really good idea today. I forgot what it was in sixth hour, though. I'm writing a YA novel, and basically, my main character and her boyfriend, plus her best friend, are running away to the Appalachian mountains. They're gonna hike the Appalachian Trail! It's gonna be fun! The main reason I started writing that story again is because I still haven't written the part where they actually leave. They've been planning for weeks, but they still haven't left yet. I need to write that scene.
(also, I still need fairytale ideas to write about from you guys!)

My (actual) new project.
So I figured out what I'm going to write next. I've always loved fractured fairy tales, so I think I'm going to write fractured fairy tales. Or wait. An idea is coming to me as I write this post. I could tell the stories in first person! That would be awesome. Like, as Sleeping Beauty pricks her finger, she's just like, oh no oh no oh no. i'm going to die. But in the traditional fairy tales, we don't see that. We have to assume that she's feeling scared or whatever, but maybe she isn't. Maybe she's excited, because she knows she'll be woken up by her true love, and she really needs a guy in her life. (Typical princess. Always waiting for the knight in shining armor to show up. Jeez.) We don't know.
So yeah, that's my plan, I think. I'll keep you posted on how it goes!! Let me know what your favorite fairy tale is in the comments, and how you feel about this whole plan!

RANDOM QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!
I honestly have no idea where this came from.

This is my new idea!
Hello, my peoples! I don't have much to say today, other than the fact that I'm sick of my NaNoWriMo novel, so I'm starting a new one. I don't really know what it's gonna be about, but I do know that I'm going to have a lot of different characters, and the POV is going to change every chapter. These characters are mostly going to be 15 and 16 years old. Leave me a comment with what you think it should be about!
Also, random question of the day:

My NaNoWriMo Story
This year I participated in my first NaNoWriMo. I ended up with around 15,000 words, which put me 35,000 words below the 50,000 word goal. I'm not going to say it was easy, because it wasn't. I'm not going to say it was fun, but I'm not going to say it wasn't fun, either. I will say that it was really hard. I will say that I'm proud of myself for even trying, because I thought it would be easy, and then it really wasn't. At all. At the beginning, I thought, "It's like 1600 words a day, that's easy. I can do that." Here at the end, I'm thinking, "Well, that was really hard, and I'm sad that I didn't finish. Boo."
Overall, I'm really glad I did do it, because, even though I didn't finish, I now have 15,000 more words to this story than I did on November first, and I'm proud of myself for getting that far. I'm going to keep writing this story, because I haven't even gotten to the exciting part yet, and I'm going to do NaNo again next year, and I WILL finish next year, if it is the last thing I do.
